Interfaith Day of Service

The Chaplain of the YMCA of Greater Richmond is spearheading an Interfaith Day of Service in Richmond on Oct. 23rd from 2-6 p.m. Churches in the For Richmond network, the Jewish Community Center, the Sikh Association of VA , and more, will work side-by-side to help restore and beautify Woodland Cemetery. Restoring Woodland Cemetery, where thousands of African-Americans are interred - including leaders like Arthur Ashe - is so important to respecting and honoring the rich history of our city.

Tasks include headstone clean up, brush removal, probing for headstones, flower planting, weed eating, and maintenance of equipment. This opportunity is open to everyone age 12+ so it's a great opportunity for a youth group or a family who wants to serve together! Refreshments will be available. You can sign up individually using the button below. If you are a church leader who is interested in getting a group from your congregation involved, email meghan@forrichmond.org or simply use the button above.
