Summer Foster Care Network Meeting

We have some exciting news to share! After several years of meetings, prayer, and planning, we are thrilled to welcome the ministry of Project Belong to Metro Richmond! June 24th is your chance to learn all about it. RSVP below to reserve your seat.

For years now, we have been searching for a nonprofit partner who could address two long-identified needs in Richmond:

-       An organization to regularly train and coach churches to develop foster care and adoption ministries

-       A organization to help churches come alongside and mentor youth who are aging out of the foster system

As of May, Project Belong has hired a Richmond Area Director, Susan Zebley. Susan is an adoptive parent, someone who has long been part of the For Richmond networks in both Henrico County and Richmond City, and serves in the foster ministry of West End Presbyterian Church. While the mentoring program for aging out youth is a future initiative, Susan is already at work piloting new training at a church in Henrico with plans to expand in the fall.

With the addition of Project Belong, that means the For Richmond will also be making some adjustments to how we connect and catalyze the Church to collaborate around child and family welfare at the micro, mezzo and macro levels. We look forward to sharing those updates as well.

We want to invite you to join us for our Summer Regional Foster Care Network meeting on Wednesday, June 24th from 12-1:30 to hear from Project Belong’s Richmond Area Director Susan Zebley, Project Belong’s Executive Director, Chris Seaton, and For Richmond’s Executive Director, Anna Shenk. We know you will be encouraged by the incredible work Project Belong has been doing in Northern Virginia since 2018! We will be meeting in The Commons at Hill City Church: 2101 Maywill Ave.

Lunch is being generously provided by Project Belong so your RSVP via the form below is appreciated:
